Emotion Exercise
To capture an emotional photograph you really have to focus on the subject and cut out anything distracting from what really is making you feel the emotion. It's important to capture in photojournalism because that is what tells a story and as a photojournalist, your job is to tell a story. In this picture, he's just come home and is seeing his baby for the firs time and from the look in his eyes, you can tell he is overwhelmed he doesn't even know how to take in that he is holding his child. You capture emotion by a persons facial expressions, a persons reaction to something, you can capture emotion in any way really, but you have to tighten your shot and focus on what's really making you think. I love this picture because of the way he is looking at his baby. I couldn't imagine the feeling of coming home knowing you might not make it out and then being able to see and hold your newborn and first child.
